Each batch is slightly different in both gradation and taste, and comes from sherry barrels chosen one by one to ensure a more intense profile than the 10-year classic. On the nose: red fruits, sultanas, nuts, spicy notes of wood, vanilla biscuits. On the palate: powerful thanks to the full alcohol content, characterized by the vinous note of sherry barrels. Spices, dried fruit, apricots, oranges, creme brulèe. Final: Biscuit, with pleasant notes of malt and orange marmalade. Very fruity, and obviously spicy.
A very interesting, rich and decisive Mortlach, suitable for those who love a robust whisky. Surprisingly complex, characterized by a beautiful interplay of notes: the sweetness of wood, notes of raw meat and citrus that balance the various aromas.
Notes of taste Light on the nose, well balanced and rich in nuances. At first the fruity aroma of fresh green apples emerges, but soon decisive notes of malt and wood emerge. Full-bodied on the palate. The finish is bitter-sweet with hints of ripe raspberries, wood smoke, dehydrated lavender and cocoa.
In 2009, Jim Murray's Whisky Bible named Ardbeg Uigeadail "World Whisky of the Year" - in praise of its "silky brilliance" and "complexity to a level that only a handful of distilleries in the world can even dream of reaching".
Pronounced ‘Oog-a-dal’, it’s a special vatting that marries Ardbeg’s traditional deep, smoky notes with luscious, raisiny tones of old ex-Sherry casks. Ardbeg Uigeadail was voted by the 120,000+ strong Ardbeg Committee as their favourite Ardbeg.
