By maturing in small batches in five unique barrels, a rich, complex and varied, but above all historical flavor was created. Using the contents of barrels with different aging ranging from 7 to 21 years, it allowed to create the richest Laphroaig flavor possible. As the name suggests, this new version of Laphroaig is inspired by the knowledge and traditions handed down from generation to generation by distillery managers, blenders and artisans. In 2019 it was also named Best Scotch Whisky No Age by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.
Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon is handcrafted and specially selected by our Master Distillers. A five-time winner of “Whiskey of the Year,” it’s our most premium and decorated Bourbon that measures up to exacting standards.Color: Delicate amber gold. Nose: Dark caramel, sweet oak, and charred wood. Taste: Lush and spicy. Oak with honey, apple, and orange notes. Finish: Long, graceful, and relaxed.
The 10 year is the original Laphroaig, because it is distilled in the same way as when Ian Hunter invented it over 75 years ago. It is the foundation of all other Laphroaig expressions. During preparation, the malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on the island of Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor. Those enjoying the 10 year old Laphroaig will first notice the bold, smoky taste, followed by a hint of seaweed and a surprising sweetness. This full-bodied variation is the foundation of all Laphroaig expressions and has a lingering finish. In 2019 this whisky was also named best Scotch Single Malt of at least 10 years by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.
